just in a way I could never have imagined.

She was praying... and I was watching.
I didn't understand her words, but something in her prayer made my chest tighten,
as if she was reminding me of what I had lost.
Never in my life had I seen light face me without fear...
until she came-dressed in her black veil, with eyes like an old promise from the sky-
and without speaking, she said:
"God never forgets anyone, not even the darkest among us."
