Peter has a path laid out before him, a great quest to help a princess and stop an evil king. However, he seems perturbed. As if some unseen hand is controlling everything around him. But it's for the best of course. As long as Peter heeds the call and does exactly what the narrator wishes; follows the heroes journey laid out before him, everything will be fine.

Peter Wilson doesn't belong anywhere. Not in the foster system. Not at school. Not even at Camp Half-Blood, where kids of gods learn to wield their powers. Why? Because Peter doesn't have a godly parent. He has Nyx-the Primordial Goddess of Night. And that makes him a threat. When shadows start speaking his name and monsters bow at his feet, Peter unlocks an ancient system tied to the darkness itself. With each enemy he defeats, he grows stronger-physically, mentally, and magically. By age 14, he's 6 feet tall, commanding an undead army and teleporting through shadows. But power comes at a cost-and Peter's past holds secrets even the gods won't touch. Now, with Camp Half-Blood on edge, Olympus whispering war, and something stirring in Tartarus, Peter must decide: Is he a hero, a weapon... or the beginning of the end?

The Great Cleric: Volume 8

21 parts Complete Mature

There's no time to lose. Luciel and the gang make for Grandol with all haste, on a heroic quest to save a damsel in distress...not. The hapless healer is in no rush to go sticking his neck out for others, but he's not one to break a promise to an all-powerful dragon. When they arrive, though, things don't exactly go as planned, and a detour takes Luciel on yet another rescue mission-this time at an auction. But a bid war is only marginally less lethal than a labyrinth, especially when it's being run by a shady character who seems to know more than he lets on. And that's the least of the poor S-rank's worries. With Brod back around, class is about to be back in session, and it's looking to be the hardest course in brutality Luciel's ever taken. Meanwhile, the healer wonders what it is that keeps making him the center of chaos. Is it the mere whimsy of fate? Or he himself? And what happens when it puts the people he cares about in danger?
