Love is one of the cruelest sicknesses I've ever witnessed. To this day it still scares me, seeing how it can destroy you. It's one of the reasons I myself don't want to fall in love. Seeing something so gentle and soft turn ugly and violent.
Physically my father never hurt my mother, I think he'd rather of skinned himself than hurt her like that, but when it came to it, she wasn't who he chose to stay loyal to.
