She wasn't wrong. But still.
I stepped in front of her and held her gaze.
"Issy. We're already here. We can't pretend we didn't see it."
She glared at me.
I glared back.
Two idiots. One brain cell. Shared custody.
"What if they're evil?" she asked.
"Then we leave."
"What if they're magical?"
"Then we still leave."
"What if they're hot?"
I raised a brow.
She paused. Then she sighed. "Okay, fair point. We should at least look."

A story about two best friends who somehow end up in a kingdom straight out of their favourite fantasy books. Picture rolling fields of emerald grass, crystal lakes with shimmering springs, and the most breathtaking night sky you've ever seen.
There's just one catch - the kingdom is cursed, and those two girls are the only ones who can break it.
Oh, and one more thing: they've never been here before, have absolutely no magic, and seem to be attracting all the wrong kinds of attention... particularly from a cold-hearted king and an evil enforcer.

A/N: I started writing this as lore for my original character and it spiraled into a whole new universe with new characters. Nothing in my life had ever made sense. They told me it was normal, I'd grow into who I was supposed to be, that things would get better; here I am now, going through the motions and wondering if this was really what I was destined to do for the rest of my life. Turns out, it wasn't. Nothing in my life had ever made sense but that was because my memories were fractured, pieces of a person I used to be, one I used to know lurking in the shadows of my dreams. I was just a normal guy trying to navigate the world but saying yes to everything and falling into the same monotony just wasn't cutting it anymore. I had a steady job, a pretty girl seemed interested in me and my 22nd birthday was coming up just before Christmas to give me something to look forward to. That all changed when I remembered her. I'd never forgotten her truly, blue was the only thing I knew and that Neptunian shade was so striking it stuck with me from the night she screamed at me in the rain but it wasn't until I found all the papers, the notes and crystals that I started to remember the world she lived in. One that wasn't my own and that had so much more to offer. It sounded crazy but I knew it was real and getting there, finding her and fixing the bridge that I'd unwittingly burned was going to be hard but I was ready to be more than a desk jockey typing my life away. I wanted to see the orange skies instead of the blue and find her sitting in a field of crystals again, staring at the stars.Complete

She'd spent many years playing in this forest as a child. While Selene had enjoyed her novels in the warmth of the house, a blanket wrapped around her narrow shoulders, Sidra always came home covered in mud and scrapes from hours out in the wilderness. She'd take an axe out into the forest and pretend to fight off monsters, the terrifying Mystics that her grandmother had told her stories about. She'd pretend to fight Lycans, knocking out their massive teeth one by one. She'd stand atop rocks and throw her axe at the trees, pretending they were wood nymphs come to steal her away. She'd always return home and tell Selene about the monsters she'd fought that day, spinning together a story of courage and bravery for her little sister. She felt that pain in her heart again as she thought of those times. Through the years, she'd stop going into the woods to play, and she'd instead find stories for Selene. Books of all sizes and shapes, no matter the content, because it made her feel close to her sister just as she had before her parents died. She thought of her family now, how she was all alone. Her parents had been gone for years, her grandmother, and now even Selene was missing somewhere. She needed to find her sister, she couldn't lose the last bit of her family. **Complete
