Amber Anistia was a college undergrad, anxious but ready to face the world. She was near the top of her class, sporty enough to snag enough athletic scholarships to see her through college. She wanted to get her bachelors, her masters, she wanted to travel, to explore, to learn and grow and see.
This is not what the world wants for Amber, and it rights her perception of it accordingly.
Perhaps she was meant for greater things, but she was taken instead. Taken from her family, from the world that once seemed to rally for her. Taken, and twisted so firmly that her body warped into something incapable of any human activity. Taken, and made to fight her way into a world as familiar as it was different.
It's a good thing Amber was a fighter. And once she set her sights on something?

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! I decided to rewrite the previous version of this story (under the same title) because I have aged and my writing style has changed significantly. This story will have more words, what will hopefully a better plotline and characters, and should just generally be better overall.

'Fight or Flight' is a fanfic based on ChristalScherer's book Upon Wings of Change. I recommend reading it first, as there is a spoiler for the end in chapter 18 of 60. Btw, this is my first fanfic, but not my first time writing. Scientists acquired alien tech, and being without a conscious, decided to experiment on humans. Sela was already out on her own at nineteen. Warren was twenty-three and months away from graduating top of his class. Both were taken, and both were turned into dragonettes. Not long after, the Votec wiped humanity off the face of the planet only to be run off themselves by the Kymari. Banded together with a few other dragonetts, Warren and Sela decided to stay away from the Kymari cities judging the monster-infected forest safer. However, as the years progressed, more dangers arose and chances of survival shrunk. They had to move. Nothing ever went as it was supposed to, and the attempt to relocate came at a high cost. Instead of simply trying to find a new home, Sela was left trying to find Warren while he struggled to make his way back to Earth after being taken. Escript: Was it worth it? Tasha could have been lying or even mistaken about Warren, but the image she shared-it was him. Without a doubt it was him. Sela swallowed hard watching the Kymari enter the shuttle; it was right there, her chance to get Warren back was in front of her, but there was a cost, and she wasn't sure she wanted to pay. I dedicate this story as a gift to her and all her readers!* Aspen wasn't the only one to be kidnapped and turned into a dragonet, but she WAS the only one who had a something to hide, outside of their human intelligence. Armed with nothing but the wings on her back and the claws on her feet, Aspen did her best just to survive her new environment. But just as she was starting to get used to her surroundings and her newly acquired skills, the rug is pulled out from underneath her once again.
