When Nina Vasco travels from Alabama to Mexico City in the summer of 1994, she only means to comfort her grieving best friend, Paloma Herrera. Paloma's young son drowned in the river near the family estate, a tragedy that has left the household shrouded in silence and shadow. But the longer Nina stays, the more she realizes that grief isn't the only thing haunting the Herrera Estate. At night, she hears wailing by the riverbanks. She sees a woman in white drifting through the fields. And the air itself seems to hum with sorrow. Drawn into a dangerous web of secrets, Nina finds unexpected solace in Melo, the estate's brooding farmhand with bruised knuckles and haunted eyes. Yet even his warmth can't protect her from what waits in the water, or the truth buried beneath it. As Nina unravels the story of a vanished girl named Maya, she discovers that the cries in the night are not legend, but vengeance. The dead will not rest until their story is told, and the guilty pay the price. In a land where love and loss flow like the river itself, The Girl from the River is a gothic tale of forbidden romance, betrayal, and the haunting power of justice that refuses to drown.

The Death of Valentina is a supernatural noir mystery set in the hauntingly quiet town of El Caveto, just outside Mexico City. After three years in early retirement, American-Mexican former investigator Jaxon "Jax" Briggs is pulled back into the shadows when an envelope with nothing but the name Valentina appears mysteriously at his doorstep. Nobody wanted the case. But someone-or something-chose Jax specifically. As he starts to unravel the mystery behind Valentina's death, Jax discovers the town's secrets run deeper than he ever imagined, tangled in folklore, betrayal, and supernatural forces tied to the spirit of Camayota, an entity whispered about by the elders. The murder leads Jax to Maria, a brave and quiet brown Mexican girl with an eerie connection to the other side. Together, they peel back the layers of El Caveto's history-haunted symbols, cryptic mirrors, and a long-abandoned hotel that may be the beating heart of the town's curse. As Jax battles inner demons and terrifying truths, he must confront whether the horror is just beneath the surface-or if it's been living inside him all along. The further he digs, the more reality distorts-until he's no longer sure whether he's solving a murder, or becoming part of one. The Death of Valentina blends psychological thriller, slow-burn horror, and supernatural mystery, wrapped in themes of love, betrayal, legacy, and the terrifying cost of truth. The question is not who killed Valentina... It's what does her death awaken? And can Jax solve it before El Caveto claims him, too?
