The Stranger: taking Charge by wilberarron

Man has come to the forest and the herd must split up to survive. Stranger finds himself in charge of one of the herds. Problems assail from all sides and tragedy rocks Stranger and his friends and family. It is a hard year, but Stanger will overcome, assuming he survives it.

In this small town, they are cut off from the rest around them do to a beast in the woods. Any who have entered have never come back to their homes and loved ones but when a father never comes back after years has passed his daughter decides to go looking for him herself. People form teams to attempt finding the thing, to destroy all life they see as unnecessary, they further trick and murder each other to get what they want, including the thing... The search for destruction destroys everyone who reaches to the power.

A young boy is raised alone on a farm, isolated from the world around him. One day, his family buys a trio of goats. Though, to their surprise, one of the goats suddenly enters labor, giving birth to a black billy. The goat seems healthy by all objective measure- save for one slight oddity: It has human eyes.

After the false god Cornifolius is slain, the survivors must piece their shattered world back together and rediscover what "normal" even means.
