The Color Beneath the Blank Canvas

(8-chapter challenge) Maerin used to see the world in color, every shade, every tone, every feeling painted onto her canvas. But after a personal loss, the colors faded, and so did her passion for painting. That is, until Kat arrives. A mysterious new girl with an easy smile and a strange fascination with Maerin's old artwork.

As the two grow closer, Maerin begins to paint again, inspired by Kat's strange energy and uncanny insight into her emotions. But something about Kat doesn't quite add up, her stories about her past don't match, shadows seem to cling to her presence, and sometimes, Maerin swears she can see her paintings move when Kat is near.

When Maerin uncovers the truth about who or what Kat really is, she must decide whether to face the darkness that stole her color in the first place... or lose herself to it completely.
