For as long as Eleanor Hawthorne lived, she hated Rafe Cameron. Even just the thought of him would set her off. She was raised to believe that all Camerons weren't truthful and Rafe proved just that.
Being the heir to the Cameron dynasty Rafe was also taught that all Hawthornes were liars, and so he made it his every day mission to torment the Hawthorne princess and make her life hell.
