The Sith have remained dormant for nearly a millennium. Their defeat on Ruusan crippled their forces and forced them into hiding. Small in number and discarded all across the Galaxy, some licked their wounds and rejoined a shattered, yet equally potent Sith Order under Darth Bane. Some others created their own short-lived splinter groups. And some disappeared completely off the face of the cosmos.

Meanwhile, Aiden Madrah is your everyday law consultant for a big transport firm in Coruscant. His tasks though do not merely consist of meagre paperwork: his expertise in a plethora of Mid-Rim and Core World law systems gives him the upper hand in securing lucrative bargains for the company. As such, he takes an active role in securing deals, oftentimes embarking on long journeys across systems.

It pays well. Really well. The credits far outweigh the dangers for him... till they don't. Pirates, in a desperate attempt to take control of the ship, damage it beyond repair. They crash out in the Unknown Regions, with Aiden miraculously being the only surviving member of the crash.

He attributes his good luck to Ari, a powerful force user. He thinks her a Jedi on a pilgrimage who happened to save him. He couldn't be more wrong...
