Harry Dresden is the best at what he does. Well, technically, he’s the only at what he does. So when the Chicago P.D. has a case that transcends mortal creativity or capability, they come to him for answers. For the “everyday” world is actually full of strange and magical things — and most of them don’t play well with humans. That’s where Harry comes in. Takes a wizard to catch a — well, whatever.
There’s just one problem. Business, to put it mildly, stinks. So when the police bring him in to consult on a grisly double murder committed with black magic, Harry’s seeing dollar signs. But where there’s black magic, there’s a black mage behind it. And now that mage knows Harry’s name. And that’s when things start to get… interesting.
Magic. It can get a guy killed.

L Lawliet, worlds greatest detective and possibly the smartest person alive... can't talk. Well, he can, but only to those he's deeply connected with. Partially mute, he hides behind his screen and solves crimes anonymously. Speaking to taskforces with text to speech, and no face shown. Until he's pushed into a corner with a particularly tricky case, and ends up having to make his first face to face interaction. (y/n) shows up to the hotel room of the worlds greatest detective, thinking they'd see a well polished, wise old man. Instead they're met with a tired, young and rather huggable looking guy with eyebags holding a torn notebook page saying "I am L, and I can't talk" -- GNC READER. Basically all language for the reader is gender neutral, anyone can read! Non binary mfs rejoice. When the eventual lemon hits it'll be kinda alluded to an AFAB body (bc marketing to my main audience yo), but all pronouns are they/them and there's no descriptions of tiddies or anything. The fact that the Black is also a handsome man does not help Claire's case at all. Raven has nothing to do with his family and yet is hostile to Claire upon finding out she's a mage. He worked as a detective to make sure everyone had equal justice but when he got his new partner Claire his world is thrown upside down. Not only is she a mage whom he silently despises but she's also the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on. As they work together and find a rocky truce between themselves they travel the city solving crimes with a magical association. Raven accepts Claire without cause while Claire lays her life down for the man who stole her heart. As they fall for one another a dark figure lerks in the shadows, plotting something sinister for our mage Claire. Could this dark figure perhaps have something to do with Claire's unclear past?
