DEEP BLUE HEARTS.
A HIGH-SCHOOL LOVE STORY.
"Dhvani, you can't do this to me!" he yelled.
The air between them was thick, tense, heavy, almost dangerous.
"Yes, I can!" she shouted back.
He grabbed her arm, pulling her closer, their faces only inches apart. She had to look up; he had to bend down to meet her eyes.
Her eyes shimmered with tears. His weren't any better.
She tried to pull her hand free.
"I don't love you, Vedya. Get this in your mind."
Her voice was sharp... too sharp. It hurt more than she expected.
"I'm not interested in your lies," he bit out. "Tell me the truth."
She continued to stare into his eyes, still struggling against his grip.
"This is the truth!" she screamed.
He pulled her even closer.
"You're doing all this because of your father."
"No, I'm not!"
Her tears spilled over, streaming down her reddened cheeks.
"You are my woman. Understood!?" he yelled.
She yelled back louder, angrier, breaking.
"No, I'm not! You don't own me!"
His frustration snapped. He shook her once, his voice booming,
"YOU ARE ONLY MINE!"
She flinched , not out of fear, but out of heartbreak.

"She never loved me."
But before she could finish her sentence, I pulled her closer by her wrist firm, not harsh.
She gasped, her palm landing on my chest for balance, but I didn't care.
"Look in my eyes and say it, Sanvi."
My voice was low, breaking at the edges.
"Look at me and say every fucking moment meant nothing. That you never loved me."
Her lips parted, her eyes trembling with unshed tears.
She hesitated.
Then-her gaze turned cold.
"I never loved you, Akshat," she whispered.
Silence.
Her words fell between us like shattered glass-
small, sharp, impossible to ignore.
My chest tightened. My ears buzzed.
She doesn't mean it. She can't mean it.
"I liked you, but not anymore. It was just infatuation."
The final nail in the coffin.
I dragged in a breath, but it never reached my lungs.
Lies.

They met in college.
Two quiet souls who spoke more through glances than words.
He was her best friend's brother...
She was his brother's bestfriend
From strangers to friends.
From best friends to lovers.
And then-
A heartbreak time couldn't fix.
Because some stories don't end,
they simply pause until fate presses play again.
