A Love That Tastes Like Sin

Tastes Like Sin is a story that hits hard. Set during the summer before college, it explores love, faith, guilt, and self-discovery. Delaney Mae is a sweet girl everyone adores. She's very religious, a prude, and always does the right thing. Deep down, she longs to live more freely and escape her sheltered, miserable life. She dreams of becoming a veterinarian and helping animals. She loves painting and old music. Her sheltered life led her to create a bucket list in seventh grade she never checked off. Determined to complete it before college, she even asks for help from the bad boy she's not supposed to think about. It feels almost impossible, but she's committed.
Then there's Nash Weston, a tough, rebellious boxer. Beneath his exterior, he is head over heels for Delaney. His life has been struggles: his father has been abusive since Nash was 12,after his mother died giving birth to his little brother, who also didn't survive. His stepmother dislikes him, and he's just trying to get by.Most people he keeps at a distance, but Delaney is different-pure, kind, and the only reason he wants to improve himself.
Their worlds are so different, which complicates everything. The pastor who once sexually assaulted Delaney left her with lasting scars and doubt. She blames herself, feeling it was her fault, and her parents blame her too, insulting her and calling her names. Nash's father warns him that spending time with her will ruin her and break her. Yet Nash wants to protect her. He wants to help her pursue her dreams, finish her bucket list, and maybe get closer. He also aims to go to college, train as a firefighter, and escape his chaotic home life.
This summer gives them a chance to connect despite guilt, shame, and judgment.
