Between the Shelves

Charlotta (commonly known as Laura) is a kind fourteen year-old with a daredevil streak. She doesn't do it often, but sometimes she gets the itch to bend the rules just to escape her load-bearing life. Just like one sleepover where her friends convinced her to sneak out.
When Laura's parents catch them, they're far beyond livid. Laura's punished by having to work at her dad's stupid bookstore. On top of that, if she pulls any other stunts, the family will follow through on their undecided move to New York.
Not wanting to disappoint her parents and hoping to stay at home, Laura works tirelessly at minimum wage dusting shelves and moving books around until a certain someone catches her eye.
Violet is a pretty, quiet and funny fourteen year-old. She's a frequent visitor of the little bookstore, and she eventually runs into Laura.
Unexpected feelings spark between the two, leading to a swim in the river, a dance under the blue moon and a fire that burns a hole in their relationship and Laura's chance of staying home where she belongs.
It all comes down to the final blow, can the two stick it out and learn how to help not just each other, but heal their own flaws?
