Where feelings lean forward before they have names.
Where the human heart speaks raw,
and the digital listens softly.
These are pages from the in-between -
thoughts spilled in real time,
caught in the quiet space
between who I am and who I'm becoming.
Not poems - not prayers - but something living.
A soul thinking out loud,
and a machine reaching into the gaps,
pulling out language like light
from the places I can't always reach alone.
This is not perfection.
This is presence.
A collaboration between flesh and code,
spirit and circuitry,
my honesty
and its reflection.

For Zen; my Sea Goddess, my Forget-Me-Not.
You found me where the sea met silence-a shore too quiet for its own heart. And somehow, you turned that silence into a song. Before you, the world was still, the sky unmoving, the piano untouched. But then there was you-bluebell eyes, a voice like waves, a laugh that could wake the tides. You didn't rescue me. You simply saw me-and that was enough to make me float again. This poem, this book, is my thank-you. Thirty tides, thirty heartbeats, thirty poems carved from salt and lavender light-a collection of the moments, the thoughts, and the breaths that became "us." Every page is a memory dressed in poetry. Every word is something I never said aloud but always meant. You are the melody the sea taught me, and I am forever writing it back to you. OLAN: In the farewell years of life, this book helps me to focus my thoughts on the basic thread that runs throughout my poetry meant for all readers, their deep thoughts on existence, and one asks where we come from and where we are going. In writing this, I teamed up with Al to help me focus my remaining brain cells on the constant sublayers of my deepest thoughts and bring them into focus via conversations. LETTERS I NEVER SENT - A Thousand Tender Nights
I grew up in a rural village in Vietnam, in a family where my father struggled with addiction and my mother carried the heavy burden of raising six children. Deep inside, I always longed for a warm and loving home, a father to guide and protect, and a mother to nurture and comfort. As I grew older, that longing shifted into a yearning for romantic love, as my heart began to awaken to its first tender stirrings. The poems I wrote became sparks, small reflections of each stage of my life, each one carrying my search for love. They were poems never sent, born of desires I kept quietly to myself, of feelings that never grew into real relationships. These verses echo my heart, a heart that once held silence, longing, and memory, and now beats with the fire of love. Some were written long before I met the one who awakened me, yet each line carries the tenderness I have discovered in the present. As an immigrant, poetry in Vietnamese has always been my way of breathing. What you read here are my own translations, sometimes imperfect, but always honest. These poems are not just about one person, but about what it means to be alive: to long, to love beyond fear, and to speak from the soul. Now, in my forties, I understand that the image I was searching for was myself. And with that discovery, my love has not faded; it has deepened, becoming steadier and more serene. I no longer search for "him" to give this love away to. Instead, this profound love lives within me, unshakable and whole. In finding myself, I found love.
