Wyatt Ledger has spent his life running - from the city, from his past, from the blood on his hands. But some sins don't stay buried, and some ghosts don't forgive. Fleeing to the vast plains of Texas, Wyatt hopes to find quiet work and anonymity beneath the wide, merciless sky. Instead, he finds them - the Ghost Riders that hunt him through dreams and dust, whispering his name in the wind. Then he meets Jesse - a bull rider with a crooked grin and eyes full of thunder. Jesse's got secrets stitched beneath his skin, old wounds that ache with more than pain. He recognizes the shadows in Wyatt, maybe because he's been dancing with his own for far too long. As the two men's lives intertwine amid rodeo lights and restless spirits, love flares between them - fragile, fierce, and forbidden. But when the ghost riders draw closer, Wyatt must decide whether to keep running... or turn and face the darkness that refuses to let him go

A down to earth cowboy with a past is thrown into the supernatural world, when he falls for a vampire who has demons of his own. Daryl's a bullfighter on the national circuit, stretching his pay check as far as it will go between himself and his brother's farm back in Texas. He also has the misfortune of being incredibly unlucky in love and stumbles into the wrong bar trying to forget a night he can only half remember. The bartender tells him to not go looking for trouble, but amongst the dark shadows and beautiful faces, it finds him in the form of Ryker. Ryker isn't known for being a nice guy. He's got a line that most people would believe is too malleable, but he is one of the good guys. Always shooting off his mouth at the wrong time or getting himself into fights he should avoid (but can handle) he sees the cowboy and goes in search of a fight. But neither man is prepared for the battle of wills and emotions that ensue from their broken attempts at understanding whatever it is that draws them together time and again. The more Daryl is drawn into Ryker's dark world, the more obvious it is that the Cowboy's half forgotten past may be more related to the shadow games and machinations of the very agency that has been trying to kill Ryker and the rest of the supernatural world for decades now.
