Before the Shadow fell upon Mirkwood, an Elf defied her fate out of compassion.
Exiled, she became a song forgotten among the trees.
Centuries later, Legolas found her once more... and their love shone like a rising star, only to fade with the dawn.
It is said that even now, those who listen to the wind in Greenwood may hear the voice of Aniwen.
(I had finished reading every Legolas fanfiction I could find, so I decided to write one of my own-one that would finally satisfy me. I apologize for any grammatical mistakes; the original story was written in Italian, but I chose to translate it into English.)
This story was born as a short sequel to The Lord of the Rings, I hope you'll enjoy it.
