Long before Alpha City lit the night with neon and newsfeeds, the world changed in a single generation. Historians call it the Merge-a sudden convergence of dimensions that pulled entire lands and peoples from distant realities onto one enlarged Earth. In a matter of months, Remnant rose between Japan and Hawaii; Amestris surfaced in the Atlantic; and echoes of countless other realms-heroes, mystics, even gods-took root in the soil.

Nations rebuilt borders overnight. Heroes from every world formed a new covenant to keep order and share knowledge. At the heart of it stood Union Academy, a sprawling citadel in Alpha City where young defenders of every race and power trained side by side. To many, it was proof that coexistence could work.

But for the Revenants, the promise of unity never truly reached their doors.

Older than any single world, Revenants were beings born from the deepest tempests and forgotten legends-half myth, half flesh. In ancient times they had defended wild frontiers and remote villages. Yet as humanity's fear hardened into policy, the Revenants were hunted, branded, and driven into exile. To most people, "Revenant" still meant monster.

Even after the Merge, the old hatred persisted. News feeds blamed them for unexplained attacks. Cities posted hidden bans. Hunters roamed in silence. And every act of violence, no matter how isolated, became proof that the entire race was dangerous.
