Blaire Haven and August Reed are the respected captains of their high school cheer and football teams. Both are fiercely competitive, used to leading their squads, and confident in their social circles.

When their coaches ask them to plan the school pep rally, they have no choice but to stay after school together to coordinate routines, decorations, and speeches.
