Kylie Cantrall has grown up in the spotlight - the daughter of a famous music producer, a rising artist with a voice people can't forget. But somewhere between studio sessions and social media perfection, she's lost track of who she really is.

Malia Baker has her future mapped out - debate captain, top of her class, destined for an Ivy League. Structure is her safety net, and she's never once looked down. Until she does... and finds herself staring straight into the eyes of someone from the one place she's supposed to avoid.

When Southview and Northbrook are forced together for the annual City Debate Invitational, sparks fly in all the wrong directions. A musician who speaks through rhythm. A debater who lives by reason. And a connection neither of them expected - or can easily explain.

But with both schools watching and a rivalry ready to tear them apart, Kylie and Malia must decide how much they're willing to risk for something real.
