Mr. Gray leaned back slightly, the shadow of a frown crossing his face. "I know," he said, low and deliberate. "Every part of me knows it's wrong."

I swallowed hard, looking down at my hands. "Then why... why does it feel like I can't stay away?"

His eyes darkened as he stepped closer, close enough that I could feel the heat radiating off him. "Because it's not just desire, Jess," he murmured. "It's everything. And the harder we try to fight it... the stronger it gets."

I bit my lip, barely daring to meet his gaze. "I don't want to stop," I admitted.

He paused, studying me for a long moment, his expression softening just enough to make my knees weak. "Neither do I," he said quietly, and the words sent a shiver straight down my spine.
