Arthur Wayne, a 17 year old boy, lives in Liberium a country trapped behind massive war walls that circle the entire land like a prison. His people, the Palastians, are feared and hated by the outside world because of their blood, which is believed to be cursed. To the world beyond the walls, Palastians are not human... they are devils. For two thousand years, Liberium has been isolated, abandoned, and locked away from the rest of civilization. Food does not grow there, so the people depend on supplies dropped from the outside shipments the king must beg for on his knees to keep them alive. Inside Liberium, life is divided sharply: the rich live safely, the poor slowly rot, and 60% of the population are criminals exiled from other countries, forced to live among the Palastians. Arthur has lived his whole life watching suffering, inequality, hunger, and hopelessness. But after losing someone important... someone who believed in freedom , something in him broke awake. Now, Arthur swears to do the impossible... To climb the walls, defy the world, carry the pain of two thousand years, and free his people, no matter the cost.

'Fine,' I huff, 'I don't need you money, then.' I cross my arms over my chest, trying not to get distracted by the fact that his body was caging me to the wall. 'And don't act like you know me better than I do-' 'That's the problem, isn't it? I want to get to know you better, I want you to let me in,' He blurts out, 'But you're too damn stubborn to let me.' I look at him, my eyes wide, stunned for a moment. The way he says it makes me forget who I really am talking to. Is this really the man who would belittle people for the fun of it? It felt like he was exposing a silver of himself that, somehow, cared. ----- Lana Auclair, a girl who is troubled by her past and present but still manages to hide it from the world, who earns money in a way that is both dangerous and illegal.
