Rina, a renowned criminal, will do just about anything for the right price. When she is sought out by the Eleventh Fatui Harbinger, Tartaglia, who requests her help in finding a missing artifact known as The Tear of Celestia, Rina has no choice but to refuse because she is the very thief who stole it.
However, she soon receives an anonymous request accompanied by a hefty pouch of mora, promising her more money than she could ever dream of should she complete one mission: the assassination of the Eleventh Fatui Harbinger, Tartaglia.
Rina decides to accept not only the anonymous bounty, but also Tartaglia's. But she has no intention to fulfill his request. She plans to get close to him, learn his habits, discover his weaknesses, and lead him on a wild goose chase for what he believes to be The Tear of Celestia. When the moment is right, she'll lure him to a secluded place and end him.
In theory, the plan is perfect. But Rina never could have predicted how difficult killing a Harbinger would be, not because he's strong and dangerous, but because of how human he is. And because every time he looks at her, her heart beats just a little faster.
