PROLOGUE

The sound of the airplane engines echoed faintly through the cabin, steady but cold. Reneesme adjusted her gloves, her pulse racing faster than the turbulence shaking the skies. She wasn't supposed to be nervous - not now, not after everything she'd gone through. But the moment she heard the captain's voice on the radio, something inside her froze.
