In the late summer of 1999, Bang Chan, a mischievous but charming 16-year-old, finds himself caught between rebellion and growing up. Along with his troublemaker friends - Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, and Han - they're infamous for being the "school headaches."

When Chan's latest prank crosses the line, he's punished by being forced to sit in front of Minji, the top student of their class - beautiful, disciplined, and the daughter of a respected local family.

Minji's only friend, Haerin, is quiet, sarcastic, and from a struggling household, much like the boys. Though she blends into the background, her story quietly intertwines with Han's - a mix of rivalry, stubbornness, and unexpected affection that later blossoms into something unforgettable.

As Chan and Minji spend more time together, late-night study sessions and shared secrets turn into something more - something neither of them is ready for. But as the year 2000 approaches, choices about the future, family expectations, and class differences begin to pull them apart.
