I'm saying this because I worry that people think I'm becoming political; if you are, don't be - I wouldn't dare become political because real-world politics sucks - I hate it. I've watched it destroy lots of forms of entertainment, relationships, and people. However, politics in fiction is totally different, as it can help with creating stories. This book is simply an action fic based on real-world wars and conflicts, and is primarily a book about fighting for sovereignty and fighting against an invading force.)

The son of a company director is lost somewhere in the wilderness of post-debt-restructuring America, and hasn't been seen for three days. The company wants Ellie to go and find the kid, and Ellie doesn't know if she can. The one rule she's stuck to all her working life is to never to go to America, but now she might have to. She will have to, if she wants to save the daughter she hasn't seen in years.
