I bent down to collect my books that had just been purposefully knocked over on the floor by Sam Zimmerman, Mount Suvner High's star quarterback. I scrambled to gather my books as students rushed to get to class. I almost tripped over my own feet trying to not to embarrass myself anymore than I already did.
RIIIIING!
The minute bell screeched, telling me I needed to hurry my butt up if I wanted to get to first period on time. I trudged to class, still shaken up by being publicly humiliated in front of most of the junior class. I guess I should introduce myself since I've already ruined any chance of impressing anyone. My name is Alexa Rachel Curtis but my friends call me Alex. I'm a complete and hopeless wreck when it comes to public situations and I'm not exactly who you would refer to as 'popular'. I guess you could call me a high school low-life.

Life is panning out exactly how I expected it to. I made it to high school. I'm a teenager. I don't have any of the partying and spring break memories I'd hoped for, but it's not bad. I've even sort of assembled a plan for what I want to do after school. And then out of nowhere this boy comes into my life, and it's like gravity shifted my entire world upside down. "Why Nora? Why did you leave?" He asked. "Why did you disappear with no goodbye or see you later, or even a note explaining everything or even a phone call from you once you got to where you left to?" I didn't answer right away. I didn't know how to explain this to him, and having his new friends around made it all the harder. I knew I had to think carefully about my answer, so I wouldn't give too much away. Just like some things were better left unsaid, there were also those things that could only be said at the right moment, so as not to ruin everything. I had to choose my words carefully and be sure to not get angry like he was trying to make me. I hate to admit it, but he still knew me better than I knew myself. And that meant that he knew that if he angered me enough, everything I was hiding would come spilling out. And that...that couldn't happen.
