Charles Xavier knew his relationship with his sister was strained so when she brought someone, a doctor/scientist, into the mansion who claimed he could help them on their quest to have rights for mutants. He did his best to go along with his sister's wishes. However a mission with the man later he wished he had trusted his gut. It could've saved him from that lab.
