The Villain Is Wronged

Aiden had always been a good kid. Brave. Fearless. The kind of boy who couldn't turn a blind eye to injustice, no matter how small. It wasn't in his nature to walk away.

That's why, on his usual route home, when he saw a group of men trying to snatch a woman's bag in front of a bookstore, his body moved before his mind could catch up. He charged toward them, fists clenched, heart pounding-not out of fear, but out of instinct.

But good deeds don't always end well.

He barely heard the woman's scream as cold steel pierced his side.

Once. Twice. Over and over.

His legs gave out, and his vision blurred, swallowed by the suffocating darkness.

"Is this...where I die?" The thought drifted through him as the world slipped away.

But instead of nothingness, he awoke to the scent of fresh lilies and the feel of silk sheets beneath him.

A grand chandelier sparkled above his head. The room was enormous, lavish, almost too perfect to be real.

Then a sharp pain seized his mind as memories he didn't recognize crashed into him. Memories that didn't belong to Aiden.

"Wait... I know this place..."

"This is...the world of 'The Rise of the Knight'."

"No, no, this is impossible-"

"I'm inside the novel?"

And worse-he wasn't just anyone.

He was the villain. And the male protagonist of this novel is acting strange.
