It had been almost two years since Xie Lian had fought White-no-face, and it had been just as long since Qi Rong's host body had been burned to a crisp, and his soul had dispersed into many, many fragments.
So, Xie Lian, for the sake of making Guzi happy (and saving Lang Qianqiu's sanity from the everlasting questions the kid annoyed him with), had decided to try to stich his cousin's soul back together.
Basically, Qi Rongs redemption arc, because I know at least 3 of you might want to read something like this :)
Yes, this is Post-Canon and might be a bit OOC, so I apologise in advance.
There might be a bit of Qi Rong x Lang Qianqiu, but I'll warn you at the start of those "romance"-heavy chapters.
