Blackbird (singing in the dead of night)

Conrad Fisher goes to California, let down and completely alone after the death of his mother and the betrayal of his brother. After being stranded at school on the anniversary of his mother's death and nearly being forced to freeze on the walk home, he meets Jude. His saviour is the most interesting person he's ever met, and he can't help but be intrigued by her.
