During the final moments of his life, Sparta's King, Leonidas, literally staring death in the face, is chosen by the Pagan God of Fallen Warriors, Odin. Odin picks Leonidas out of the dead Spartans by his Valkyries dragging up to his Great Hall, Valhalla. Their he gives Leonidas a second chance, and sends him down to 8th century Norway to aid a young Viking destined for greatness, Ragnar Lothbrok.

Hera was born to a unfertal old mother but not by the seed of her mothers husband but by the seed of the god of war, Ares, son of Hera and Zeus. Hera was named after Zeus' wife and her grandmother Hera. Her brother Leonidas was the king of sparta and raised her from the time she was born after her mother died in child birth and her mothers husband a few days after. Her brother had a dream that told him to name her Hera. he trained her as any other spartan male and sent her to the gogi as the first female spartan warrior in the history of sparta.
