He stood then, towering over her in that infuriatingly composed way, his voice calm but teasing. "I did. And I kept it."

Her jaw dropped. "You-what?!"

"I didn't break the contract, Meerab," he said, bending slightly so they were eye to eye. "You did."

She gaped at him, speechless. "I-what-no! I did not!"

He smiled that lazy, devastating smile again. "Everything that happened last night..." His voice dropped, gentle but edged with wicked amusement. "It was with your consent."
