What We Stay Alive For: A WangXian Story

Lan Zhan has always been fascinated by history, drawn to the Sunshot Campaign and its heroes, and the struggle of good over evil, in particular one Wei WuXian of the YunmengJiang Clan of the past. He accidentally discovers that this same person became the notorious and vilified Yiling Laozu later on, after a three month long absence from the cultivation world. Lan Zhan's interest in the historical figure shapes his career path, and he becomes the go-to expert for anything related to the man who supposedly went against all the cultivation clans in his attempt to save a handful of Wen Remnants. Then, an accidental landslide in Yiling, high up in the Burial Mounds, uncovers a strange artefact, and Lan Zhan is called in to offer help. But little does he know that this pursuit of the truth behind the Yiling Laozu is what will change his life forever...and what is worse, is that there's a powerful curse in place, engraved on the mysterious artefact.
