In the Kingdom of Crytallis, many citizens have inherited a power from ancient figures, Evolvers. Their powers, Evols, have been passed down through generations, creating new sets of Evols. Over time, people have also discovered Spirit Animals, each person getting one. They can transform into them whenever, although it can be every thirty minutes.

Mauvery Rivera has a rare Evol, which is Poison. She attends Nightrain Academy, a school for future assassins and knights for the kingdom. Secrets lie deep in her heart, but only she knows of them.

Zacharius Clyde, her childhood best friend who possesses the Lightning Evol, attends the same academy. He only poses as someone with the Lightning Evol, but he seems to be hiding much more, which could get him killed.

Ever since Mauvery's sister, Adelynn, had disappeared a year ago, things have been strange. Their parents seem to be hiding things, and secrets spill out from unexpected friends and foes.

She disappeared for a reason. And no one knows why.
