Eight years ago, fresh out of law school, Danielle Cross landed a job in the California Attorney General's office - working directly under Attorney General Kamala Harris as her Special Counsel. Long nights in the office working cases slowly turned into late dinners, deep conversations, and a relationship that crossed lines and blurred into something more intimate. What started as mentorship became something intensely personal. Danielle found herself living two lives - a trusted advisor by day and Kamala's secret lover by night. Their relationship lasted nearly a year, until reality crashed in. Kamala got married. Danielle resigned.

Now, eight years later...Kamala Harris is the Vice President of the United States, and Danielle is her new Chief of Staff.
