Ellie Brooks had always been the girl who danced like the world was watching-and she loved every second of it.
At Elite, she'd been unstoppable: they were national champions, she was Miss National Soloist, the one everyone whispered about in crowded hallways and backstage dressing rooms. But when the unbeatable team finally lost-to The Next Step-something inside her cracked. It wasn't anger. It was hunger.

So she packed her pointe shoes, left the studio that built her, and walked straight into enemy territory.

The Next Step wasn't what she expected. It was fiercer, louder, and somehow realer. Every rehearsal felt like a battle to prove she belonged-and then there was Noah. The boy who danced like he was trying to heal something no one could see. He was trouble in the best way-smiling mid-turn, catching her eyes in the mirror, and making her forget her choreography for just a second too long.

Maybe Ellie had joined The Next Step to win again.
But maybe... she was about to learn there are some things worth more than trophies.

I quickly wiped my eyes making my way back into the auditorium, we had to finish blocking Romeo and Juliet. "Oh Haley?" "Hmm?" "Want to go out later? I mean so I can monitor you." Aiden asked sticking his hands in his pocket and shifting his weight. "Monitor me?" "Yeah no relapsing right? " He said giving me a grin. " Sure. I'll just text my mom to let her know, that I'm getting food with you to do lines, and to contact my therapist. Well maybe not in that order, I don't want her to worry." "You're handling this really well." "Well it's happened before, and this time I'm not going to lose anybody." "You got this, stay strong." "Sometimes I think I'm a loose brick on a castle. I feel like I'm expected to be perfect and if I'm not the whole castle will collapse." "So you're like the cement?" "Sure?" "That was an awful attempt at a deep conversation, just saying." "Gee thanks. Once a jerk always a jerk." "You're still going out with me right? " "Of course this is a sappy teenage romance novel. So the naive girl always goes with the jerk." I said rolling my eyes. "I would not be that. I was thinking something like Prince Charming or a star crossed lover." "Well if we would hurry and go in, you would be able to play one." "Oh right." ~*~ Haley Willaims was the girl everyone wanted to be, Student Council president, head cheerleader Valedictorian, you know everything. Until one night everything comes crashing down. "You're this gorgeous, ballet-dancer-poet who knows the bartender at the sexy underground club where you take this girl you just rescued from a slimeball at the bus station." She stunned herself with this revelation as she paced back and forth. "This can't be real. You can't be real. Are you secretly a prince too? Or maybe just a wealthy CEO of a big corporation?" "Did you say gorgeous?" he smirked. His charm was so disarming, but she couldn't let him in. She had too much to lose, too much to do. She couldn't let a boy get in the way of her promise to her mother. She mashed her palms into her eyes then looked at him to confirm he wasn't a mirage. He was still there. "Either you're a bad cliché or too good to be true. Neither one is what I need right now." She backed off further, "I've gotta go." He stepped towards her and she retreated more. "Don't," she said as turmoil swirled in her mind. "Clichés aren't all bad," he pleaded. [BOOK 1] What they have is messy, reckless, and impossible to walk away from🦋 ************* "I won't leave" I whisper, and he smiles, "I know, baby" he says softly, and my lips tug upwards into a smile. "You're the exception" he continued, his tone tender as he pressed a short, sweet kiss to my forehead. I didn't know it then, but I started falling in love with Finn Brookes, we were each other's exceptions. * * * Lily Garcia didn't come to university looking for love-especially not with someone like Finn Brooks. But with their pasts threatening to destroy what they could be, and old friends trying to drive a wedge between them, trust becomes their biggest hurdle. And when a new love interest steps into the picture, everything Lily and Finn thought they were building starts to fall apart. Fighting their demons was never supposed to include each other, but now they have to decide if the risk of heartbreak is worth the reward of finally letting someone in.

Band aids were always a must have when we were kids. Whether it was the time you tripped while skipping rope, or fell off the monkey bars, or got into one of those fights with the local bully, "No, that won't do" "What are you talking about, it sounds great so far! It's a lot better than what I can do." "This college essay has absolutely no direction". "Well, why are you telling me to come read it so far? Can't you just ask Josh- I mean, he's smart-" He shot up from his desk. "You know I can't do that!" "Oh yeah. Right, sorry. Look, why don't you ask him out already". Noah blushed furiously. I can't do that. What if he's not... you know... into guys? A-and we're already good friends, I don't want to risk our friendship over this. I saw what he meant. He stopped writing and looked up at me. I asked him, "Would you spend the rest of your life with him?" He sighed and put his hand over his heart. "Of course I would. He means everything to me". "Well, I know you'll take good care of him. Just try to ask him out to the dance. He paused, and smiled. "You know what, maybe I will. Thanks Sadie". "No problemo,'' I grinned. As I turned to leave, he stopped me. "And who might you ask out to the dance?" --- Sadie Hawkins is your average tomboy soccer girl. Her best friend Noah is a good student and a bit of a nerd. As the day of the school dance draws nearer, they are more pressured to ask out the people they like. But what happens if the people they like happen to be their closest friends?
