In the quiet corners of the city that never sleeps, Lorraine, a college psychology student, finds herself trapped in a life she can't escape - living under the same roof as her abusive mother and controlling stepfather. Shy, withdrawn, and carrying the heavy weight of a broken family, she spends her nights wandering to the nearby 7/11 - the only place that feels safe, open, and constant.
There, she meets Eli, a warm, talkative cashier whose easy smiles and late-night jokes stand in sharp contrast to the darkness she hides within. At first, she keeps her distance, afraid of connection. But night after night, as coffee cups are refilled and conversations grow deeper, their small encounters begin to heal wounds neither of them knew how to face.

You apologized profusely, and he just scoffed and moved past you, shoving your shoulder in the process. You have 2 classes with him, 3rd period English and 7th period Math. Y/N's home life isn't the best. Your dad left your mom about 5 years ago cause he found out she was cheating on him. You were devastated cause you were a lot closer to him than her mom. You never got along with your mom. Only a month after their divorce, your mom got a boyfriend, who is a total piece of shit. He usually comes home drunk, which causes him to get abusive. Your mom is barely home. She's either at work or at a bar/partying. When she is home, she's usually sleeping. When she's not, she's always picking fights with Y/N.
