It was supposed to be humanity's miracle. The Regenerative Genetic Nanotherapy or the Project RE:GENA is a cure designed by Dr. Severin Vale to end COVID forever. One shot, and the body would rebuild itself-stronger, faster, and untouchable. But the miracle got twisted. Cells regenerated out of control. Veins burned green. Minds shattered. The cured became something else-something hungry. Redford City was the starting point. In less than an hour, streets became silent and hospitals became slaughterhouses. The virus did more than just kill. Life was rewritten by it. Now that the Earth is in danger of going extinct, the reality that RE:GENA was not a solution reverberates through the wreckage. But it was the start of an uncertain conclusion. How far would you go to survive when the cure itself becomes the nightmare?

Trigger warning - Severely sensitive topics. Around 25 years ago, an unknown virus plagued the Earth- targeting none other than the cells responsible for constructing one's genetic code. Humans, animals, plants- any living matter that comes in contact with it quickly faces its immense mutational power, sparking nothing but unruly destruction. This living nightmare demanded more than a simple adaptation, it forced a complete overhaul on daily life. Yet, despite humanity's best efforts to adapt to this new system- cities plummeted to the ground, nations were obliterated in chaotic arrays of fire, countries infected by the scourge of madness brought about by meaningless war. Humanity was driven to the brink of extinction. In a desperate attempt to survive these conditions, humanity came up with something to protect them. Colonies. A radius considered a "Safe Zone", as it incapacitates any infected attempting to breach its perimeter. Its the perfect environment to rebuild what's left of society. On the flip-side, the infected create nests of their own, producing genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension, and attracting many others of their kind. It is assumed that their sole objective is to propagate. Consume. These are called "Contamination Zones", and their increased numbers have caused dozens of Colonies, and outposts alike, to suffer breaches and irreversible changes all over the continent. The infected are ruthlessly growing stronger. Rhys, the Warden of Zamaton Colony, has taken measures to prevent the catastrophic events from ever reaching their quiet life, where Kayden Moss, the survivalist in question, has lived for the past 3 years. If all goes well, they'll avoid these breaches, Or so it seems...
