𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 Marigold heard her younger cousin, Louella McCoy's, name being called out at the reaping that unfortunate day, her body acted before her mind could even process what had happened.

The three other tributes: her life-long friend Haymitch Abernathy, Wyatt Callow the oddsmaker, and Maysilee Donner the most stuck up girl in town-almost immediately became dear to her. After all, the reason she was going into the arena was because she cared too hard, so she knew it was to be expected.

But what she didn't see coming, and was distraught to realise, was that she was certain to see the people she loved die. And what was even worse, was the fact that she would probably die too.
