What if none of it was worth it?
Monet spent every day of her high school years searching for the bricks she believed would build the perfect future. Academic success, a family, a budding career in STEM, and childhood love. It all felt so close, she could almost taste it. Clinging to the future she was convinced was hers, one night of chaos destroys everything in its path.
Seven years later, parts of the life Monet dreamed of remain intact. Some things... she had to let go of. What other choice did she have? Then, one day, a familiar voice with an unfamiliar request threatens to unravel all her hard work.
Are some things better left in the past?
Now, Monet faces two choices: try to rekindle what was lost or allow herself to be loved by someone new.
