Brody is the guy everyone hates
because he is mean to everyone in California but his mother and Elliot, his childhood best friend. His dad was abusive too but got throw in jail for almost beating Brody to death.
So when Gabriella walks into her new school year to see 5 jocks beating up Brody and she steps, what happens. More importantly what happens to Gabriella and Brody will they be friends plus what happens when Gabriella's step father shows up in California.
