A terrorist attack in the United States ends in a massacre when the Gun Devil appears, reducing entire cities to smoke, flesh, and shrapnel.
In the Soviet Union, a child from the USSR's supersoldier program is used in a ritual meant to summon the Devil of Change, a creature born from humanity's fear of having to change their lives-or being forced to evolve.
The summoning unleashes the unthinkable. The Gun Devil breaks into the USSR and begins the slaughter.
The Devil of Change adapts, mutates, and counterattacks, tearing off a large portion of the Gun Devil's body... enough for the USSR to steal the remains as weapons.
But victory comes with a price. The Devil of Change is left in pieces and, to avoid disappearing entirely, merges with the child used as the sacrifice. A Hybrid is born among the corpses.
Before the Soviet Union can recover him, Kishibe storms the facility, leaving a trail of bodies behind. He takes the boy and vanishes into the snow. In Japan, he gives him a name:
Y/N Kiritani.
