Treehouse Hearts
When Arlo was five years old, he met Sam in a sandbox and lost his heart somewhere between a juice box and a shared swing. From that day on, they were inseparable-riding bikes through summer rain, building secret forts in Sam's backyard treehouse, and growing up like two halves of the same soul.
They were best friends, always.
Until the accident.
At seven, Arlo slips into a coma that lasts twenty-two years. When he wakes up, the world has changed. He's a grown man in a stranger's body, with memories that flicker like old home movies. And Sam-the boy who once meant everything-is gone from his mind completely.
Across town, Sam has no idea the man waking up in the hospital was once the center of his childhood. Life moved on, memories faded, and the treehouse is just a decaying shell in a forgotten yard.
But when fate pulls them together again, something stirs. A look. A laugh. A feeling they can't explain.
They may have forgotten the past.
But some hearts never really let go.
