Nailah Crowley stepped off the plane in Forks, Washington, the grey skies and misty rain a far cry from the sweltering heat of New York City, where she'd spent the last few years with her mom. She'd never been to the Pacific Northwest before, but there was something about the rugged, natural beauty of the place that drew her in.

As she made her way to baggage claim, Nailah's mind wandered to the reasons behind her move. Her mom's decision to travel the world had come as a surprise, but Nailah couldn't deny the excitement she felt about starting fresh in a new place. Forks, Washington, population 3,000, was about as far from the city as you could get, but Nailah was ready for a change.

Her father, Derrick, and her brother, Tyler, were waiting for her at the airport, grinning from ear to ear. Nailah smiled, feeling a mix of emotions as she hugged them both tightly. It had been a while since she'd seen them, and she was excited to reconnect.

As they drove to the Crowley household, Nailah took in the scenery, the dense forests and mist-shrouded mountains a breathtaking sight. She was about to start a new life, make new friends, and maybe, just maybe, discover a part of herself she'd never known existed.

Little did she know, her arrival would set off a chain of events that would turn her world upside down, and she wasn't just talking about the rain. There was something about Forks that seemed to draw secrets to the surface, and Nailah's was no exception.
