An amnesiac vessel descends into the ruined insect kingdom of Hallownest, which suffers from a corrupting infection. Stinger, a failed vessel created by the Pale King to contain this Infection but raised nonetheless, must unravel the kingdom's secrets, discover the truth of his past, defeat the infected Hollow Knight who now harbors the source of the Infection, and decide whether to replace or destroy it to end the plague.
