'Okay, maybe copying Mission: Impossible wasn't the best choice.' Clint feels his clothes getting soaked in blood as a pool grows around his wounds. 'As far as I'm aware, there's no reason a bunch of Russians should be after me right now.' He feels his head getting fuzzier as he loses more blood, holding onto a faint hope that someone will find his broken body. When he sees a shadow approaching, Clint uses all of his strength to raise his head slightly off the floor and look at whoever is approaching. 'No, it can't be!' Clint's vision swims as his worst nightmare strides toward him, clad in the same leather and armor as always. Loki. Clint faintly sees his lips moving, but his brain is far to fuzzy to try to read them. Before Clint can come up with any sort of plan to handle this, his vision goes dark and his head falls back to the ground. *** After a very dramatic ending to a mission, Clint ends up in Loki's grasp again, injured and hardly able to stay awake. He is certain that Loki intends on mind controlling him again as soon as his body is healed, but Loki claims to only want to help him.

Loki is taken back to Asgard to face justice for his crimes, and Odin comes down hard on the marauding trickster. Thankfully, Thor still has a soft spot for his younger brother, and he's made a pitch to save Loki's skin that the King of the Nine Realms deems worthy. Now all Thor has to do is convince Earth's Mightiest Heroes that his slightly-psychotic, partially-evil, definitely-unstable brother can and should be rehabilitated on Earth while living in Avengers Tower. Easy, right?
