This time I heard his name from someone else's mouth, it wasn't the way I expected.

"Dhvani, meet my son ...Atharv. Tomorrow he'll come to pick you up." His mother said it so casually, as if she wasn't detonating a landmine right under my feet.

He stood by the car door-leaning against the frame, half-shadowed, half-smirking-like he already knew everything I was trying to hide.
Like he remembered us
Like he remembered watching.

Our eyes met for a second too long... the same second that once started everything and ruined everything in between.

A situationship that never had a name.
A connection that never died, only went quiet.
A boy who was never mine, but somehow still felt like a wound I couldn't stop touching.

And now we were here, again-
his mother pushing us toward each other,
the universe laughing,
and him... saying my name like he had been waiting.

"Hey , Dhvani ?"

As if this time, something would actually begin or End!!

He was waiting outside the OP, there for his student who had been injured during a fight over a phone. As he sat, casually glancing at his own phone, he suddenly heard the faint sound of a baby crying. Curious, he turned toward the sound-and froze. There, outside the pediatric care unit, sat his wife with their son crying in her arms. His heart ached-it had been months since he last saw his son. His gaze shifted to his wife, gently consoling the child. Her face looked tired, pale, and completely drained. Without a second thought, he stood, tears welling in his eyes. Each step he took felt heavy, his chest tightening with every cry from his son. As he neared, he saw her clothes were faded and worn. Her feet were bare, hardened from walking-clearly straight from the farm. His heart clenched. His eyes moved to his son-he had grown so much. She was so focused on calming the baby that she didn't notice him at first. Tears filled her eyes as she held their feverish child close. He softly called her name. Startled, she looked up-and froze. Then she quickly lowered her gaze and tried to get up. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder, stopping her. She sat back down, turning her face away, quietly wiping her tears. He reached out to take their son. The moment he held him, he felt the heat-his little body was burning with fever. A chill ran through him. After all these months, seeing his child like this was unbearable. He loved his wife and son deeply, but his loyalty to his mother-and obedience to her word-always came first. Between a mother who owned his soul and a wife who held his heart, he was a man torn in a cruel war of love and loyalty. And she-she had given her all to a promise whispered beneath the sacred fire... never knowing that one day, she'd be holding her child, with nothing but a faded vow.

"So.. go on a date with me?" I can't stop looking at him. He's just so beautiful. As he always was-just ten years younger. Same brown eyes, same lips, that boyish charm. The only difference is the hint of innocence in his gaze and the curiosity in his expression. No doubt he's surprised by my sudden question. I can't really blame him. His boring, nonchalant classmate of one year has just asked him out after a nice evening together. But I know he'll say yes. He has to. He never said no to me. I can't wait to plan all the amazing, adventurous dates with him, to make him feel special this time-just like he did for me. I'm eager to get to know him all over again. That's when I hear mumbling. "Hmm?" I ask, not hearing him properly. "No. I'm sorry, but I'm not interested. I had a great time today, Anu, but I don't see you that way. I'll have to decline." I can hear my heart breaking. Funny, isn't it? All your life, you think: Okay, this will be my last heartbreak. This guy will be the one. He's going to make it all worth it. And then, suddenly, life throws another failed attempt at love into your bucket. If I can manage to get rejected by my husband of three years, then there probably isn't any hope for me. . . Anu had everything-power, success, and a love so deep it felt unshakable. Three years of marital bliss with Ashwin, the man who was her home, her heart, her forever. Their life was perfect, built with love, laughter, and quiet mornings wrapped in each other's warmth. But in the blink of an eye, everything vanished. She woke up not in their home, but in a college dorm. Not as the woman who ruled boardrooms, but as a twenty-year-old student. And then she saw him. Ashwin. But this Ashwin didn't know her. He wasn't her devoted husband. He was a stranger, a boy still finding his way in life. She had been thrust back into his past, into a time where she didn't belong. And the most terrifying question of all- Would he still fall in love with her?

"Siddharth..." He didn't say anything. Just walked towards me. His eyes were darker than night-intense, unreadable. Hungry. "I shouldn't have come," I whispered, my voice shaky. "This is not-" His hands circle my wrist pulling me behind the water tank, where the fading light wouldn't betray us. "You like the way they look at you, don't you?" Before I could answer, he shoved me against the wall, his body pinning mine. The rough concrete scraped my back, but the sting was nothing compared to the fire in his eyes. His eyes looked dark and dangerous. His mouth crashed into mine, claiming, punishing. I gasped, and he took it as invitation, his tongue sliding against mine with a possessiveness that left me dizzy. His hands were everywhere-tugging at my clothes, gripping my waist hard enough to bruise. I whimpered as his fingers slipped under my skirt, rough and impatient. .......... Kalyani × Aayansh #5 in songs out of 38k -29/11/2025 I pinned him against the wall, my breath catching at the nearness. His shoulders tensed under my hands, his face turned away as if looking at me would burn him. "Suniye..." My whisper barely broke the silence. He didn't move. I tugged his collar, trying to pull him down, but his height mocked me." He Shivji... inko itna lamba kyun banaya aapne?" A shaky laugh almost escaped, but the ache in my chest smothered it. "Wait here." My voice was low, steady only on the surface. I darted to the dressing table, grabbed the small stool, and dropped it in front of him with a soft thud. Climbing up, I steadied myself by resting my palms on his rigid shoulders. Now, we were finally eye to eye. "Now we can talk," I murmured. "Tell me... what were you saying? I'm all ears." Still, he refused to look at me. His silence cut deeper than anger. Something inside me cracked. I touched his chin gently, lifting it with my fingers until his eyes met mine. "Don't do this," I said, voice trembling despite myself. "You know I can't bear your ignorance, aayansh." His gaze locked with mine, and the world shrank into the space between us. His eyes burned-anger, pain, something unspoken flickering behind the fire. "I won't accept this marriage," he said, voice rough. "You can't force me to accept it... to accept you. Not after everything you did." My breath caught. I stepped closer, leaving barely an inch of space, enough to feel his warmth seep into me. His lashes fluttered as if the closeness unnerved him. He dropped his eyes, his words breaking apart in a stutter. "I-It's not r-right. I... don't deserve you. You don't even know me completely." And then I saw it- His ears. Scarlet red. A soft, involuntary smile touched my lips. His body screamed resistance, but his heart... oh, his heart was betraying him. ______________________________ Yours Kalyani - by @mahitraa4
