Remember when beastars was simple? When it didn't turn into a shonen-ninja-mafia-esque thing? If you enjoyed that simplicity then you'll propably like this fic. It's set before Legosi meets Haru (by this point it's basically an au where Haru doesn't exist), and it will not touch on any of the manga plot points, so there are no spoilers. During the first week, humans were infected with a virus showing cannibalistic behaviour only to their own species. Biting. Eating the flesh of ones own species. Violent behaviour. It baffled scientists at it's cause, wondering what it is. Animals however, were invisible to the infected Omnivores. Humans were ignoring the Herbivores and Carnivores. Until, they too got infected. Somehow they did. Whatever caused it, they can see both human and animal as their prey. Even if their prey are carnivores. The army lost control within the first month. Airports shut down in areas nearby, while flights didn't dare to go back to Australia. No other country was willing to take Refugees. But one showed compassion and opened it's doors.
