Miracles aren't supposed to fall into the hands of reckless alchemists... yet here he is.

The night a glowing orb tumbled into his workshop, everything changed-
his experiments, his luck, the entire rhythm of the city.

The miracle hums to him, answering his thoughts with sparks of possibility.
Doors open. Coins flip in his favor.
The world tilts, curious about the boy who dared to pick up fate with bare hands.

Now everyone wants the orb back-
nobles, mages, thieves, people who definitely shouldn't be trusted with anything that glows.

But he's not letting go.
Not when this miracle feels like the first thing that's ever truly chosen him.

And if chasing luck means outrunning danger, bending the rules, and following the sparks across the kingdom?
Well-
he was never the careful type anyway.

COMPLETE #1 in Fantasy #1 in Adventure #1 in Historical Fiction ---------- Sometimes, believing helps us to see truth. Other times, we need a little evidence to believe. But there is truth behind everything; every false manoeuvre, ever little lie...a small piece of truth is hidden. Just like truth is wound into legends too. Growing up best friend to the future King, Arabelle never really thought her life could go wrong. Whenever she wanted something, or needed something, she would get it. Then she lost her father at a young age and Arabelle was forced into a world of dresses, balls, and lies. Being a tomboy, Arabelle would have rather been out on her horse doing archery practice with her brothers. When Arabelle gets curious and sneaks into a forbidden area of the castle, she discovers a deadly secret: her bloodline is sacred, dating back to a legend surrounded by the one thing she knows not to be true. Unsure what to do, she gets caught up in a series of events that lead to her being hidden and whisked away from the only familiar place she knew. After making some unlikely allies, Arabelle sets off on a journey to find the legend of the last dragon egg. Fate has something big in store for her; will she be able to withstand the pressure of it all? There is one thing Arabelle needs to learn to survive this new place... Some things are more than a legend. ---------- © Isabella Espe 2013 - 2019 This is a work of fiction. Legend of the Torchbearer - Book One Most children are lulled to sleep by softly sung lullabies or the sound of snoring family members, I fell asleep to the roar of dragon-song thundering through the mountain known as Beinn Na Nathrach; named for the creatures who first made it their home. Dragons roamed the world long before men, and at their height, nobody could have foreseen their downfall. Now Beinn Na Nathrach is the last nest, and the riders of Dùn Ceò - the ancient fortress carved into the mountainside - are the crumbling remnants of a once noble and powerful sept of armies the world over. As an orphan brought up within the walls of a dragon keep, following orders and watching the riders train is as close as I'll ever get to joining their ranks. Life for me is laid out as a servant, with my place secure as the ward of one of the commanders. I can see it ahead of me; the years of mucking out stables, fetching food, mending clothes and equipment, when all my heart aches for is to know how it feels to see wings stretched out either side of me. Yet the monotony of life is shaken when a hatchling is found in the forest, and rumours of rebellion in the most Northern villages begin to spring up. But why would a few unruly farmers require an entire contingent of well-armed soldiers who seem overly interested in the goings on in Dùn Ceò? If the hatchling didn't come from the last known nest, where did he come from? And what does it have to do with a legend told as a bed time story?

Aurelia the Rebellious

18 parts Complete

You do know that you're the most wanted thief in Luwanay? You only stole a piece of bread today, but you have stolen more than that before." Oscar said. "Of course I know." I smiled at myself because it was true, I had passed by my wanted poster multiple times. I was surprised the guards hadn't caught me yet. I started taking apples when I was around 5 years old, and I had never once gotten arrested. Maybe I had good luck or something. How ironic, born of misfortune, yet reliant on lucky strikes. ------ Aurelia is a commoner, and a thief, when a boy named Oscar seeks her out. In a momentary truce, Aurelia agrees to help Oscar and his gang of thieves in robbing the royal's castle. Problem is, the castle is impenetrable, and no one, other than servants or royals, has ever made it out alive. It shouldn't be too hard, right? In a world of magic, spells and incantations never mattered to Aurelia. Until now. ------ Cover background (red dragon scales) not mine, I got it from Pinterest.
